Mobile Crisis Response Team is expanding into A3, a new program Contra Costa Health Services is currently developing. Provides timely and appropriate emergency behavioral health support. A3 team members triage crisis calls, provide field-based mental health crisis intervention, and connect people in crisis and their families to services and peer support. Provides crisis intervention, de-escalation, 5150 psychiatric evaluation and linkage support to adults with severe mental illness and adults with co-occurring substance use and mental health issues.

Description

Provides a same day specialty mental health service designed to have mental health providers respond to adults experiencing a psychiatric crisis in the community in all regions of Contra Costa County. Offers crisis intervention, de-escalation, 5150 psychiatric evaluation and linkage support to adults with severe mental illness and adults with co-occurring substance use and mental health issues. Program staff is comprised of Licensed Mental Health Clinical Specialists and Mental Health Community Support Workers. Local Police or the Office of the Sheriff may standby for safety when determined if an in person crisis response is needed.

Monday-Friday, 8am - 10:30pm; Saturday, Sunday and holidays, 8:30am - 5pm

Eligibility

Adults with severe mental illness and adults with co-occurring substance use and mental health issues. Populations likely to not be served include adults presenting primarily with related cognitive decline, intellectual disabilities, domestic violence, or crime prevention.

Fees

No fees for Medi-Cal Beneficiaries and Uninsured. Individuals with private insurance may inquire a fee per their insurance provider.

Intake Procedure

Call to initiate referral. Team will provide a phone screening and determine if a field visit is required.
