Description

Children must be age 0-21 in foster care, and appointed to CASA by the juvenile dependency court (300s).

Referral from judge, parent, foster parent, social services or probation officer appointed by the Juvenile Court.

Description
Offers volunteer project opportunity for clinical therapists interested in in donating 1 hours pro-bono per week to work via tele-therapy with youth in foster care. Youth are age 12 to 21 and have mild symptoms of depression and anxiety due to abuse and neglect. Sessions are held online in order to ensure that the youth can have ongoing therapy no matter where, or how often, they move within the state. Therapists who donate their time will be matched with one youth and will receive free CEUs for a course on trauma-focused CBT for youth and adolescents, a bi-weekly consultation group, and a HIPPAA Zoom license to conduct sessions.

Eligibility
Volunteers must be able to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting. Must have a current license as an LPCC, LMFT, PSYD, PHD, MFCC, LCSW. One-year commitment required.
