Operates automotive repair and smog check station licensing units and several programs related to automotive repair and vehicle emissions including the Consumer Assistance Program (CAP) which assists consumers needing Smog Check repairs to bring their vehicles into compliance with emissions standards. Eligibility

Vehicle must have failed Smog Check, not have a tampered emissions control system, be currently registered with DMV with valid unexpired registration or have fees paid, not undergoing a transfer of ownership, not registered as a business, fleet or non-profit organization and title must be in the applicants name. Client must have household income that is less than or equal to 225% of FPL and not have received assistance for the same vehicle through CAP.
