Description:

Provides vocational and social rehabilitation in a supportive environment for Contra Costa County adults living with serious mental illness. Offers a hybrid model of in-person and virtual Work-Ordered Day programming and social activities. Participants share ownership and responsibility for the success of the organization by working in a unique partnership with a small staff, building on strengths rather than focusing on illness and finding purpose and meaning through work. Provides a safe, accepting place to spend the day, valuable work to perform within the organization, opportunities to socialize with friends and co-workers, and access to employment and resources within the wider community. Membership is free and lifelong. Members are eligible for supportive services including, rental assistance, food and transportation. Site offers a food pantry for members who are facing food insecurities and supports members in signing up for CalFresh and connecting to local food banks.

Provides vocational and social rehabilitation in a supportive environment where adults with persistent mental illness can go to rebuild their lives. Due to Coronavirus Covid-19, offers a variety of virtually programming including technology classes. Loans computers and helps members complete smartphone applications.

Office and Program Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 5pm; virtual hours vary, call for information.

Eligibility

Resident of Contra Costa County (when applying), age 18+, with one of the following diagnoses: Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, or PTSD. Can self refer, but a psychiatrist, case manager, therapist, or other healthcare provider will be required to complete an enrollment form.

The Clubhouse provides an accepting place to spend the day, valuable work to perform within the organization, opportunities to socialize with friends and co-workers, and access to employment within the wider community. Membership is for life and provides ongoing support. Offers transtitional, supported, and independent employment. Clubhouse supports individuals to find a job and provide supports for the member to continue with their employment. Independent employment assists members who already have a job but need minimal assistance to continue holding their employment. Provides transportation and rides for medical appointments, grocery shopping, errands, banking and more.
