Provides a service which matches volunteers to bring Pets, Music or serve as friendly one-on-one companions to lonely individuals living in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities in Contra Costa County. Organizes diverse opportunities year round including holidays for volunteers to socialize and share their time, personal stories and/or artistic gifts with elderly or disabled persons (who have few/no visitors) living in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Card Making in November to distribute during December Caroling both volunteer opportunities are open to anyone who signs up by phone including families. Short application available by email.

Monday-Saturday, 7am - 7pm
Required Documents
Volunteers must have proof of automobile insurance and current driver license. Required documents vary for live music, holiday volunteer opportunities.
Eligibility
Volunteers: adults, teens (with parental permission); Those visited: elderly must be resident of nursing home or long-term care facility in area served.

Intake Procedure
Volunteers: Call to request application. Process entails interview, facility introduction and orientation. Call for Holiday volunteer opportunities, all applications available by email.
