Book Distribution Programs

Programs that make books available to people who want and/or need them, either at a discount or no charge. Included are book exchange programs that allow people to swap books they have read for new ones; programs that provide books for children and/or young adults as a means of encouraging their interest in reading, often working in cooperation with local schools and libraries; and book giveaways or low cost book sales that target other populations.

Public Lectures/Discussions

Programs that sponsor or promote the appearance of individual speakers or group panels who may address a wide variety of social, political, philosophical, cultural and other issues of interest before an audience; or who discuss their particular area of expertise in the arts or humanities and/or read from their works in progress. Members of the audience may be invited to participate in the discussion.
